When is the best time to hunt?

The best time to hunt is from April to October. During this period we have cool mornings and evenings, cold nights and warm days.

What type of clothing do I need?

You will need clothing for both warm and cold weather conditions. It must preferably be of a neutral colour. Essentials are windproof jackets, warm sweaters and well-fitting hiking boots.

Do I need to bring firearms and ammunition?

We recommend you bring a rifle with which you are familiar. All rifles must be transported in shock-proof rifle cases. Ammunition must also be packed in a hard container. You do have the option of renting rifles from us.

What documents do I need for customs?

You have to obtain an export permit from your country. We'll send you the relevant documentation for a temporary permit which will be issued to you on arrival in South Africa. This temporary firearms permit is valid for the duration of your safari. You'll also need a letter of invitation from your Professional Hunter and the Outfitter's company with relevant registration numbers.

How do I go about reserving a hunting safari?

It is important not to wait untill the last minute to make a booking. By planning your safari well in advance you will avoid problems and disappointments. A 50% deposit is required. Balance is payable on arrival. See terms and conditions on Price List.

Do I need insurance?

We are taking all the necessary precautions to safe guard you against accidents, sickness or other loss. However, we do not accept any liability. You must speak to your travel agent's insurer.

How do I go about importing my trophies back home?

The taxidermist will arrange for government and veterinary permits to export your trophies back home. All you have to do is to confirm that you will be able to import your trophies into your country.

Can my wife join me on a hunting safari?

Spouses and friends are welcome. It will also be an unforgettable experience for non-hunters to go into the bush, watching and shooting the game with camera or video recorder. South Africa is a beautiful country with much to offer. We also combine hunting safaris with photographic / golfing / fishing safaris. So, there is no need for your wife or lady friend to stay home.

Is there a health risk hunting in the Eastern Cape?

There is no health risk in the Eastern Cape. We do, however, have a first aid kit on location and we are close to doctors and hospitals.

Is target practice neccessary?

Yes, get familiar with your rifle. Practice shooting in different positions, i.e. shooting lying down on your stomach, sitting position and practice a quick second follow-up shot. But you donít have to worry, Franco, your professional hunter is there with you, every step of the way, backing you up and advising you.
